Hypegolf Invitational united the community for a memorable golf experience in Los Angeles
Hypebeast, the leading platform for contemporary men’s fashion and culture, hosted the fourth edition of the Hypegolf Invitational on June 17, 2024, at The Huntington Club in Huntington Beach, Los Angeles. This event brought together a diverse group of attendees, including former skateboarders, professional chefs, actors, photographers, and elite golfers, all united by their shared passion for golf and their dynamic connections within the Hypegolf community.
Situated in the Los Angeles metro area, which is home to local brands such as Quiet Golf, Students, and Metalwood – that are native to Hypegolf and carried on Hypebeast’s e-commerce platform HBX – the Hypegolf Invitational celebrated the fusion of fashion, culture and golf, while strengthening community connections in real life.
This time around, with the support of Johnnie Walker, there were more hole activations, gifting and energy from attendees, creating networking opportunities and fostering a sense of companionship among the community. The event started with a 9-hole shotgun, followed by an outdoor plaza opening, where attendees enjoyed immersive attractions such as a COBRA-equipped driving range with Foresight launch monitors, a practice green with Bettinardi putters, as well as a nostalgia Topgolf ice cream truck, local food vendors, pop-up apparel shops and a Hyperice recovery lounge at the outdoor plaza.
Renowned personalities such as Timothy Granaderos from 13 Reasons Why and TikToker Blake Gray, Ethan Cutkosky of Shameless, Australian pro golfer Ryan Ruffels and pro football player Melvin Gordon showcased their skills at the Huntington Beach Club. The on-course activations hosted by Johnnie Walker brought additional excitement to the event. The stationed caddies provided guidance throughout their hole, Cincoro created a full bar at the tee box and SEGA’s Sonic the Hedgehog challenged golfers to complete the hole. While G-SHOCK hosted a closest-to-the-pin contest and offered gifting through social media engagement, El Pollo Loco provided lunch boxes and ZenWTR kept everyone hydrated.
At the end of the event, guests gathered by the Hypegolf branded stage for a Cincoro toast, after the awards were presented to winners of the scramble, longest drive and closest to the pin, alongside the special recognitions for best fit and best kicks. Attendees departed with a range of Hypegolf-branded souvenirs by Technics, Bridgestone, YETI and grid-worthy pictures courtesy of Converse.
