Hypedrive’s Cars & Kicks Event Celebrated the Fusion of Automotive and Footwear Subcultures
Hypebeast, the leading global platform for contemporary culture and lifestyle, concluded the Hypedrive’s Cars & Kicks event, featuring Jeff Staple at The Motoring Club in Los Angeles on October 19, 2024. This gathering celebrated the fusion of automotive and sneaker culture, drawing over 400 guests which filled both the exclusive interior and relaxed outdoor spaces of the venue.
The event showcased a curation of specific sports cars, classic vehicles, and custom builds, paired with sneakers from the car owner’s personal collections. Guests were invited to explore the stories behind these unique pairings. Activities included vendors, sponsored booths, product samplings and racing simulators, along with live music, as well as food and drinks. Prizes were also awarded to our guests: a set of high-performance Yokohama tires, while another took home a USD 5,000 vinyl wrap from customization company Inozetek in exchange for a very rare pair of Stash x Nike Air Force 1 Mids.
An intimate fireside chat highlighted the evening, featuring Staple founder Jeff Staple, The Fast & The Furious actor and VP of SEMA, RJ DeVera, and The Motoring Club founder Michael Rapetti, which was moderated by Hyperdrive Director, Eddie Eng. Conversations surrounding the cultures behind sneakers and cars, personal collection questions, and more were covered.
Other notable attendees included The Fast & The Furious actor Sung Kang, sneaker personality Jacques Slade, DJ Skee, Superman & Lois actor Erik Valdez, and more, with music provided by international DJ Base.
